Display symbols explained

Button functions are explained in this article, here we explain different symbols shown in different states on your Generation 2 bike display.

Basic symbols

These symbols are shown in almost very display state.

  • Assistance mode off , normal and boost .
  • GPS disabled , GPS position not located, GPS position located .
  • Battery status:

Display states

  1. Default state – no active trip – assistance mode ; GPS status; state of charge; range.
  2. Active state – trip started – assistance mode; GPS status; state of charge; range; trip distance; average trip speed.
  3. Active charging – state of charge; remaining time until fully charged.
  4. Battery empty – motor assist off, no trip recording. Lights will remain on for ~1.5 hours.

Other symbols

Some symbols are only displayed occasionally.

The GSM connection is shown via a triangle symbol:

  • Yellow triangle : GSM and thus internet disconnected, meaning map view data is not updated (no update on location, bike moved alerts, remote bike information) nor are statistics updated
  • Grey triangle : Trying to connect
  • No triangle: Connected

When your Ampler is receiving a firmware update, your display will show the download symbol  .


Basic troubleshooting tips

  1. GPS disabled 
    1. Have you already authorised yourself as owner through the Ampler app? Download the app and follow the instructions.
    2. If you are authorised as owner through the app, check the settings inside the app and toggle on “location services”.
  2. GPS position not located
    1. Make sure you are in a spot with potentially good signal strength. Being inside a building, between buildings or overcast weather can weaken the signal strength.

  3. Yellow triangle
    1. It is generally not unusual for the symbol to show, since the bike will not always have a continuous GSM connection. 
    2. Have you already authorised yourself as owner through the Ampler app? Download the app and follow the instructions.
    3. Put the bike into sleep mode and wake it up again.

  4. Location not updating, statistics not uploading into the app or kilometres not recorded
