The e-bike comes with an Ampler-specific charger. The process is similar to charging your laptop computer – you have to connect the bike to a standard wall power outlet (110–240 V AC). When you live in the UK, we will send you a charger with a Type G plug.
The charger's plug is magnetic, which holds it onto the e-bike charging port. Make sure the port is dry, free of dirt and keep it away from metallic dust or metallic items.
You cannot remove the battery from the bike for charging, which means you have to charge the bike next to a power outlet. The e-bike battery should be charged indoors, always above 0°C, and in a dry place. Do not keep the charger outside.
It takes about 2.5 hours, until the battery is fully charged again.
The Ampler charger will automatically stop charging when the battery is full. There is no risk of overcharging the battery when you forget to unplug it. The battery control system also protects it from undercharging, but make sure to charge your bike every five to six weeks when you don't use it.
