Which bike lock should I use?

How can I secure my bike?

We've summarised how best to protect your bike from theft in this blog post.

Which lock should I choose?

A good lock should offer the best middle ground between weight, ease of use and security. A good compromise is a folding lock; if you order an Ampler bike, you can order the ABUS Bordo 6000 at the same time.

The ABUS Bordo 6000 is a strong lock with 5 mm hardened steel bars to keep your bike safe. The steel bars are covered with soft material to prevent damage to the paint on the bike. The lock fits perfectly on all of our bikes and can be attached to our bikes either by fastening it onto the frame with bolts on the bottle cage holder or Velcro straps. The lock comes with 2 keys and a key card, with which you can re-order keys at ABUS.

It weighs 1.030 g and is 90 cm long.

Can I install a frame lock or spoke lock?

We would not recommend a frame lock for our bikes, as it offers virtually no security. The bridge on which such locks are usually installed does not have a hole/receptacle for it.
