How do I charge the battery?

The battery is integrated into the frame and can only be removed in case of service. This way we ensure a sleek look, keep the weight low and balanced, and the battery itself protected.

Our bikes weigh only between 13.4 - 17.2 kg, so they can easily be carried to a power socket. The bike is being charged through a port on the seattube.

The e-bike comes with an Ampler-specific charger. The process is similar to charging your laptop computer – you have to connect the bike to a standard wall power outlet (110–240 V AC). When you live in the UK, we will send you a charger with a Type G plug.

You cannot remove the battery from the bike for charging, which means you have to charge the bike next to a power outlet.

What should I look out for and how long does it take?

The e-bike battery should be charged indoors, always above 0 °C, and in a dry place. Do not keep the charger outside.

The charger plug is magnetic, which holds it to the charging port of the e-bike. Make sure the connector is dry and free of dirt and keep metal dust or metallic objects away.

Switch on your Generation 2 bike to start the charging process, on Generation 1 models the process starts automatically.

It takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge your battery.

The charger will automatically stop charging when the battery is fully charged and the charger LED will change from red to green.

Leaving the charger plugged in when the battery is full will not harm the battery, but the bike will not automatically continue to charge if it is left plugged into the charger – it is therefore important to follow the recommended charging intervals:
